Asymmetry is built on the garments with e.g. a diagonal hemline (on skirts) or at the shoulder level (with a bared shoulder or a cut-out):
Designers are playing with proportions and showed huge, extra-long and voluminous sleeves. Paired with extra-wide pants, it makes for a very comfortable outfit.
The casual is not new in streetwear but it is quite recent in high-fashion. What would make you pay more for a sweater?
Nude tones and neutrals smooth out a tailored silhouette which would otherwise seem a bit strict. Cinched waists and collars now look more feminine and soft.
Florals are not new either, though this year that are bolder, more colorful and more graphic or even deconstructed (like at Givenchy, on the right).
Prints get really loud and can cover much more of the body. The type choice is crucial to convey the desired message.
We had the 70's all over again in 2016... Now come the 80's! Folds and creases make sure the metallic fabrics catch even more of the available light.
A gingham pattern is a traditional thing - but designers found ways to make it look fresh and modern. Very playful.
