How to find out your ring size (2 simple methods)

You know your shoe and clothing sizes, but do you know your ring size? I bet that’s a hard one to remember, but it's essential when shopping for jewelry online.

Here are 2 different methods - which you can apply without the tools that jewelers use ;-)

Method 1: using a ring that you already own

If you already own a ring of the size that you’re going to get, lucky for you! This is the easiest method. You will only need a ruler or a tape measure and that ring.

Place the ring on the ruler and measure the diameter of the ring. Be careful to take the inner diameter!

Remember when measuring a wider ring to always check the diameter at the point where it wraps around your finger.

Then, look at the size table here and pick the size that matches your inner ring diameter measurement.

Method 2: measuring your finger circumference

If you don’t have a ring of the size that you want to get, no worries! It’s still quite simple to figure it out. You will need a string of paper, scissors, a pen and a ruler or tape measure.

First, cut a little strip of paper. Then, wrap it around the finger you want the ring for, making sure that you leave a little bit of space around your finger (the ring will need to go past your knuckles!).

Now, take a pen and draw a mark where the paper meets.

Then, take the string of paper and measure the space between the marks with a ruler or a tape measure.

Then, take the string of paper and measure the space between the marks with a ruler or a tape measure.

For knuckle rings, make sure to measure your middle phalanx instead of the biggest one, as knuckle rings usually come in smaller sizes.

Et voilà! These 2 methods can be applied when shopping for any jewelry brand using the European sizing system. That's the system I use for my jewelry as well.
